From June 4^thto 5^th, 2020, Xinya College held twoPhilosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) onlineundergraduate graduation thesis defenses for the first time.

During the firstthesis defense held on the morningof June 4^th,Professor Ying Xingwas the Chairman of the Defense Committee,Professor Jin Jun, Associate Professor Zhao Xiaoli, Associate Professor Liu Han and Assistant Professor Zhang Weite served as members of the Defense Committee, andDr. Li Zhenacted as the Secretary of the Defense Committee. During the secondthesis defenseconductedon the morning on June 5^th,Professor Gan Yangwas the Chairman of the Defense Committee,Professor Ying Xing, Associate Professor Zhao Xiaoli, Assistant Professor Li Ping and Assistant Professor Zhang Weite served as members of the Defense Committee, andDr. Yan Diacted as the Secretary of the Defense Committee. Tensenior PPEstudents of Xinya College took part in thethesis defenses,and stated and defended their own undergraduate comprehensivetheses.

After eachstudent finished their statement,theteachers of theDefense Committee put forward canditeand essentialquestions which the students answeredbriefly and comprehensively. The twothesis defenseslasted for more than six hoursin a tense and lively atmosphere. Thethesis defenses were also open to other teachers and students. About 50 people in total audited the two onlinethesis defenses.
