Mind, Brain & Machine (MBM) is an emerging interdisciplinary program offered by Tsinghua University's Xinya College, based on psychology, brain science, and artificial intelligence. It aims to cultivate top-notch well-rounded and pioneering innovators who are knowledgeable about arts, sciences, and engineering, explore the cognitive and neural mechanisms behind psychological phenomena, and develop bio-inspired artificial intelligence. This is a four-year program, and graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree.
This program integrates arts and sciences, blending science and engineering while emphasizing a balance between theoretical learning and hands-on practice. It focuses on cultivating students in three key areas: (1) A strong academic foundation: Students will master core theories in psychology, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence while developing research and practical skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for pursuing truth and knowledge. (2) Outstanding humanistic qualities: The program fosters patriotism, a solid humanistic foundation, a healthy mindset, and an enhanced ability to appreciate beauty. (3) Exceptional leadership: Students will cultivate the courage to explore new frontiers, a spirit of innovation, strong teamwork skills, and a global perspective, preparing them to lead in cutting-edge international research and practical applications in psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive science.
