Born in Cixi City, Zhejiang Province, in September 1964, Zheng Li is a professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tsinghua University, and Vice President of the university.

After the founding of Xinya College, he served as the Director of Xinya College (Literal Arts Education Pilot Site) Working Committee in 2014-2016 and the first Dean of Xinya College in 2016-2017.
