Ying Xing is a tenured professor at the Department of Sociology, Tsinghua University and a double-appointed professor at the Department of Political Science, Tsinghua University.

He is a member of the Teaching Committee at Xinya College, and offers the courses such as Chinese Society: Structure and Changes and Comparative Politics.
