Research area

Architecture research of exhibition design

Through interdisciplinary practice and research in the fields of exhibition design and architecture, the goal of this research goal is to study further integration between exhibition design and architecture, to show that this sort of design is no longer strictly limited to exhibitions areas, museums, and research. Instead, it now mainly comes from the spatial grouping of architectural composition, materials technology, structural computing, and other domains of technical knowledge. Therefore, the limitations of exhibition design will fundamentally change, in turn leading to its specialization.

Academic Views

Currently, many leading foreign museums have combined architectural space with exhibition space. The demand for innovative methods in creating space cannot simply be changed by the modification of internal exhibition space. Rather, it is the construction of external architectural space, structural material and the overall architectural form that are crucial in the creation of new forms of space. Additionally, this will be a direct influence in determining style and effect of exhibition space.

"The application of the composition of architectural space and exhibition space" not only will deepen and improve the effectiveness and quality of design, but, more importantly, it will be the starting point that will provide endless possibilities to the field of design. From this starting point, architecture and exhibition design will be able to harness more of their respective advantages. Architectural design will act to further exhibition design by creating more innovative and diverse design tools and mediums.

Academic achievement

After lecturing at the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, he drew upon knowledge from studying at several famous German universities to carry out long-term multi-disciplinary cooperation in international education. Works such as the 2010 World Expo in 2009 demonstrate the results of this sort of international cooperation education. Further results of this education background and prior work experience include the design of the China Railway Museum, overall visual design for the Asian Games, and other lateral research projects. He also undertakes several urban planning, architectural design and other professional projects.
