On March 18,the 1st Meeting in Spring 2021 ofthe 2nd Teaching Committee was held in Meeting Room 212, Central Main Building, Xinya College. Attendees of the meeting included Gan Yang, Dean of Xinya College, and all members of the 2nd Teaching Committee, and Ma Sai, Director of CDIE Sub Teaching Committee, presented at the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ruan Dong, Head of Party Working Group, Xinya College.

First, Ruan Dong extended his gratitude to all teachers for their attendance to the meeting and their great supports for education and teaching work in Xinya College. At the end of 2020, an election would be proceeded to select members and team up a new teaching committee in accordance with the college's administration requirements. According to Ruan Dong,theteaching committee was an organization engaged in reviewing teaching work and providing relevant guidance and advice in the college and was playing an essential role in cultivating talent. He also hoped that all committee members could provide more suggestions in terms of talent cultivation in the future.

Later, Dean Gan Yang conferred letters of appointment on the new committee members.

Subsequent totheconferring ceremony, Dean Gan Yang introduced current education and teaching situation in the college to the new Teaching Committee.

Following the meeting agenda, Ma Sai made a report on a four-year cultivation program for "Creative Design and Intelligent Engineering (CDIE)" major, and Zhao Xiaoli reported on curriculum adjustmentsto general education of mathematics and physics as well as an amended program of professional cultivation for "Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)" major. And the reports were followed by the committee's discussion.

At the end of the meeting, committee members reviewed and discussed the recommendations on declaring "Art Inspiring" as the fourth batch of model course and selecting Gan Yang, Li Mu, Wu Qiong, Yuan Xianxin and Zhang Lei, who ranked top 5% in 2020 teaching quality evaluation by students, to participate in the evaluation of Tsinghua University Award for Excellence in Teaching, and other relevant matters.
