On the afternoon of March 28, 2021, 27 students from Xinya College formed a volunteer team and assisted in the second vaccine dose injection in the West Gymnasium. The students guided the vaccinated and stamped the seal in the observation area to ensure the smooth progress of the last step of vaccination.
It was hard torecognize the volunteers with facial masks if they did not talk, but the vaccinated would feel more at ease upon seeing so many people in blue protective suits. Each of the volunteers had a complete set of equipment, which was very different from the early stage of the outbreakwhen the masks were in short supply. However, the protective clothing on volunteers with only a thin layer was not completely sealed and could not be compared with the professional one for the front-line medical staff. Even so, it became very stuffy if worn for a long time. The hardship of medical staff fighting on the front line speaks for itself. It is their selfless contributions that have brought the pandemic under control and allowed us to live normally in a safe environment.
The students of all gradesenrolledat Xinya College in 2016-20 have joined as volunteers, so as to jointly build a defense line of pandemic prevention forthe college.
We experienced the hard work of the medical staff on the front line. In fact, we didn’t wear fully sealed protective clothing. I already felt hot and stuffy witha one-layer N95 mask on, but the medical staff may have to weara mask with several layers. I found that the prevention work was really hard, especially since the medical staff may work all day long in contrast to us that only served as volunteers for one afternoon.

I think that the prevention and control has become aregular effort now, and vaccines are being given in an orderly manner. Life is actually being back on track. I was vaccinated long time ago, and I was served twice when the doses were injected. I thought I can try to serve others. I tried and I felt meaningful. I am happy for helping others.

I needed to come to get vaccinated in the first place, so I served others in passing. It was a rare opportunity to be one of volunteers during this special period. I feel that I have to shoulder the responsibility and assist the university in vaccination.
