An Introduction of Xinya’s Students Associations

Xinya Orchestra

The Xinya Orchestra is a place where Xinya College’s music lovers gather, regardless of their favorite musical instrument, era and genre. The Xinya Orchestra participates in various annual major activities of Xinya College. It lights up the opening ceremony with a feast of solemn classical music, juices up the Student Festival with rock and roll and warms up the Winter Solstice Festival with upbeat jazz music. No matter where or when, the orchestra members always do their best to let the schoolfellows feel the power of music. In addition, the Xinya Orchestra organizes theme activities on weekends as well as occasional music salons, providing a more nuanced music experience for the participants.

The Poetry Association of Xinya College is a gathering of poetry lovers who take pleasure in making friends and expressing emotions through poetry.

Art Association of Xinya College

Art, as an irreplaceable lifestyle, can enrich our inner world and stimulate our creativity. People from all different majors get together at the Art Association of Xinya College to organize art salons and sketch activities to improve their artistic abilities.

Chinese Calligraphy Association of Xinya College

Founded in 2019, the Chinese Calligraphy Association of Xinya College is committed to providing a practice and communication platform for calligraphy lovers and giving students a peaceful escape from their busy campus lives. With activities involving daily practice, cultural salons and festival celebrations, the association makes its contribution to the promotion of Chinese traditional culture.

Dance Association of Xinya College

The Dance Association of Xinya College welcomes everyone who loves dance. Focusing on hip hop, jazz and modern dance, the association offers a stage for students through practice rooms and the Student Festival. Every semester, professional teachers are invited to guide students, enabling them to feel the charm and artistry of dance and allowing them to express themselves through it.

Debate Association of Xinya College

The Debate Association of Xinya College is committed to providing a stable practice and exchange platform for students passionate about debating. It allows its participants to see the importance and value of debating and encourages students to further explore relevant knowledge and improve their critical thinking abilities.

Book Association of Xinya College

Founded by students of Xinya College, the Book Association of Xinya College organizes readings and discussions of various classics and occasionally invites internal and external professionals to give lectures and answer the questions of readers. The association welcomes everyone who has an interest in reading to explore infinite wisdom and get in touch with their real self through reading, discussing and thinking together.

International Communication Association of Xinya College

Known as the XICA, the International Communication Association of Xinya College is devoted to cross-cultural communication, publicity and promotion inside and outside the college. It currently has more than 30 members.

Public Service Practice and Research Association of Xinya College

The association is committed to developing and carrying out public service-related practices and research. It helps students with self-discovery, self-cognition and self-cultivation during their career planning and cooperates with the college in career planning guidance-related affairs.

The association provides students who expect to engage in public services with employment and training information services. It regularly hosts salons and lectures to help students better understand how to join the public service industry and public sectors and improve their participation ability. The association develops off-campus practice and internship bases, provides students with opportunities of participating in related practice and internship activities of the college and encourages students to carry out public sector research or grassroots governance-related practice activities. It also helps students access research activities including academic lectures, salons, exchanges and public management competitions in the public service field, and hosts reading parties and other activities geared towards students of the college or a certain department.

The association has organized students to participate in various activities including documentary watching, discussions and conversaziones, which have gotten good responses.
