This course introduces Korea’s post-Korean War history, society, and culture to non-Korean students. It examines five key aspects of South Korean society: the discourse of racial homogeneity, grassroots politics, collective memories of foreign aggression, the militarized trauma of the Korean War, and gendered perspectives reflected in South Korean pop culture.
